On Forgiveness

Forgiveness is about you, not someone else. Forgiveness doesn’t mean that the other person is right or that they aren’t going to deal with their Karma. Forgiveness doesn’t mean you are condoning their behavior or saying what they did was OK. Forgiveness doesn’t mean that what they did didn’t hurt you. Forgiveness doesn’t mean that you are weak. Forgiveness is about release for YOUR own wellbeing.

So often, we hold onto a heaviness that weighs so deeply in our heart because someone has hurt us. Often times, they’ve gone on living their life and don’t even realize how much hurt still exists because of their actions. Sometimes, these people hardly know you exist. Some of the greatest pain I ever endured was caused by someone who hardly knew who I was.

Bottom line, we are the ones left to sit with the heaviness of our anger, resentment, and grudges. What forgiveness is really about is releasing yourself of all that. You don’t even have to know how to forgive, you just must truly be willing. The Universe will take care of the rest if you set the intention to forgive.

Ultimately, the perfect order of The Universe makes sure you get what you give…so it’s in your best interest to give good. If someone chooses otherwise and it ends up hurting you, focus on YOUR healing and let The Universe take care of the other person. Don’t waste time hoping that you’ll be able to see their Karma unfold either. That’s just negative energy that pollutes what you attract into YOUR life. Just learn from the experience, move on, and have faith The Universe will deliver the lessons everyone is trying to experience in this lifetime.
